I was diagnosed before kindergarten and was really fortunate to have great parents, especially my mother, who learned as much as they could about TS so that they could make my life a little easier. Aspects of my childhood were pure hell but I have so many good memories because of them. I'm not sure what my point is. Until very recently my condition was just that MY condition... I haven't really talked to many people about it beyond a small sphere of immediate family and close friends. I think I'm ready to get involved and try to help kids deal with the difficulties which can arise because of TS.Tensionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05415027562233415697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9028917203149278676.post-69291770316085142322013-04-17T11:00:39.010-06:002013-04-17T11:00:39.010-06:00Charlie, thank you for your comments. That has been the case for our son, but I think dealing with Tourette has made him a stronger person. I wish you and your family all the best!Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13083922062271665231noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9028917203149278676.post-22889679323012044872013-04-17T07:06:38.617-06:002013-04-17T07:06:38.617-06:00Thank you, it is nice to find another mum out ther...Thank you, it is nice to find another mum out there that has shared their insights. My daughter is 14 and has tic-ed from 9, although now she has moved onto OCD issues. I've had though we were beyond the tics (wishful thinking really) but now my second child has started up (he is 9 nearly 10). No big surprise really as we have some pretty severe tourettes cases in my immediate family. However, it still opens up the emotions of how to deal with it and reading your post was really reassuring. Thanks again.Charliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18118247520390814572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9028917203149278676.post-72123270607567376952012-05-04T13:15:55.780-06:002012-05-04T13:15:55.780-06:00Amy, I wonder if Amelia has TS...sometime we'l...Amy, I wonder if Amelia has TS...sometime we'll have to chat. I know that Tourettes can be challenging to both the child and the parents. My niece has Tourettes.
